Kingdom Focused

Crossroads Church of Long Island seeks to be His witness in Long Island, New York, and to the ends of the earth. The Kingdom of God is what propels our community forward to the day when God's Kingdom will be fully established on the earth again and calls us to enter into the fully established Kingdom (Isaiah 11:1-9).

The church is a preview of what is to come, and is called to act as God's catalyst for the renewal of all things. Therefore, the people of Crossroads Church are Joining God In The Renewal Of All Things (Isaiah 65:17). God wants His people to join Him in what He is already doing, and because of Christ's sacrafice for us, He is graciously calling us to join Him. As a result, it is our hearts motivation to Make Known The Death, Burial, And Resurrection of Christ Jesus

As individuals who proclaim Christ as Lord and Savior, we are disciples of Christ. Discipleship is the word we use for the process of both renewal and formation. Jesus has invited us to participate in the expansion of His Kingdom through discipleship (Matt. 28:18-20). Therefore, our core mission is:

Helping People Know Jesus, So They Can Follow And Share Him

Ultimately, we seek to see individuals transformed by the renewal of their mind, who discern the will of God, who daily seek to live in Christlikeness, who are actively engaged in the church community for fellowship, accountability, and service, and who are sent back out into the world to serve as ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinth. 5:20).

Core Values at Crossroads

The local church is called to joyfully gather together to worship. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

God has called us to press on and grow in Christlikeness. Hebrews 6:1-2 exhorts, “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.” As a local church, we press on towards the goal of Christlikeness together with pure joy. There will be trials and tribulations along the way, but we are in this together. James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

God has called His followers to be joyful givers of time, talents and tithes. This is our way to extend thankfulness and praise to our Father God who has graciously given us all that we have. Giving is a form of worship to our gracious Lord. Paul proclaims in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Christ has called each believer to love, serve, and share Jesus with their neighbor, community, and world. Jesus commissioned all believers in Matthew 28:19-20 saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
